CNA Coordinating Group

In 2009, after Cynthia Bourgeault’s first visit to New Zealand, a small group made up of Pip Nicholls (Wellington), Kevin Gallagher (Christchurch), Agnes Hermans (Whangarei), and Tony and Bev Silvester-Clark (Auckland) came together with the commitment to support contemplative practice here in Aotearoa.  This group saw the purpose of Contemplative Network Aotearoa as being to offer opportunities for people exploring the Christian contemplative path to learn, grow and be supported on their journey.  We have done this by:

Cynthia has just left our shores with a hiss and a roar once more. After 60 of us spent a day with her in Wellington, 38 of us had four wonderful days with her at Te Moata Retreat Centre in the Coromandel Peninsula, and 60 of us enjoyed three days with her at Vaughan Park Retreat Centre in Long Bay, Auckland.

Cynthia Bourgeault Retreat

Cynthia is an Episcopal priest, writer, retreat and Wisdom School teacher, widely acclaimed as one of the leading contemporary teachers of Christian Nonduality. She is the author of eight books, including her most recent, The Heart of Centering Prayer, Christian Nonduality in Theory and Practice, which has been hailed by Fr. Thomas Keating as “a major contribution to the Centering Prayer movement and to inter-spiritual dialogue.”  Cynthia also serves as a core faculty member for the Living School in Albuquerque, together with Richard Rohr and James Finley.  She also loves time in her hermitage and to be sailing the seas…   This will be her seventh visit Downunder.
