Nga mihi kia koutou katoa. A warm hello fellow contemplatives. Ko Philippa toku ingoa, although I often go by Pip.

The lovely people of the Contemplative Network have generously extended me this opportunity to briefly introduce myself and guide to you to my website where you can read about what events I’m offering for the purpose of supporting people to deepen in a contemplative way of being.

I live with my husband Marcel in Otautahi/Christchurch in the suburb of South Brighton and a block back from the sea. We have five children between us, all of whom are now adult and have left home. Ordinarily I’d be gainfully employed in private practice as a psychotherapist and supervisor, but I’m currently enjoying something of a sabbatical, a year ostensibly dedicated to writing a book but which has been evolving in other ways, hence this communication to you.

I came across Cynthia Bourgeault in 2012 when I read her book The Meaning of Mary Magdalene. It was an extraordinary experience – I’d never before encountered language that so adequately described and illuminated the nature of what I’d experienced in Spirit. The recognition energy was so transforming, I knew she was my teacher. I continued reading and contemplating her work, and in 2016 and 2018 attended the Wisdom Schools facilitated by the Contemplative Network. I was deeply informed by Cynthia’s transmission of Living Presence, amazed that it was so consistent with the transmission available in her written work.

Since that time, I’ve continued to engage with the Wisdom Teachings and Cynthia’s mediation of these particularly, engaging with the Luminous and Imaginal Wisdom Schools online, and with her Mary Magdalene, Christophany, and Living Presence teachings. I’ve just also completed the Living School programme offered through the Centre for Action and Contemplation. These involvements have all been mediated through ‘my’ immediate experience of Spirit’s Living Presence, and more recently I’ve felt guided by that Presence to participate more directly in offering and facilitating the exploration of the Wisdom Teachings with others.

If you visit my website – philipparanby.co.nz – you’ll be able to read about what I’m offering, including events that I’ll be facilitating in 2023. Please be in contact if you’d like to know more about any offering or event.

Arohanui,

Philippa
