The title of this retreat day comes from Portia's speech in Shakespeare's The Merchant of Venice.

During the day we'll look at the contemporary value of mercy and the need for mercy in the world. We'll do this through mining the wisdom that the ‘mystic' Shakespeare was exploring back in 1596.  Bring your curiosity and a willingness to explore the Spirit and not the letter of the law!

There will be opportunities for input, individual reflection, group discussion and some silence to allow mercy to mellow within us.
